I made this website because I love the aesthetics of the early days of the internet. It felt much more... intimate than how the modern day internet does; to quote The Serial Port, "The Internet was a place to escape to, rather to escape from." I hate how modern day social media is pretty much locked to one format. Sure you can post (mostly) whatever you'd like, but the layout? You're stuck with whatever design the corporation wants you to have. I like the idea of people expressing themselves not only through the content they post, but how they post it.

This is my second attempt at making a website. I first started on neocities, and I have two reasons for moving off of there.
1. I generated a lot of it with AI. Ignoring all the environmental concerns that come with using AI, I had NO clue how it was put together. Pure spaghetti code.
2. Since I hated the old website, I wanted to tear it all down and start from scratch. But to be honest, I did NOT want to use neocities built in editor. I've been on a linux kick lately, and wanted to learn how to use vim and git to build a website. So I bought a domain and a KVM VPS, and here we are.
